Dave has been attending First Baptist since 1996 and has been a member since 1997. He is a Family Physician/Emergency Physician who moved to Timmins with his wife Gwen and 2 sons, David and Nate, to start his medical career, never imagining that he would remain here for his whole career! He has been blessed to serve as a trustee, speaker, emcee, community group leader, Marriage Celebration leader, Family Fest coordinator, and most recently as the Chair of our Oversight team, now transitioned to the Board of Directors.

He came to know Jesus as a 10 year old boy through a Gideon New Testament and the example of godly grandparents. He was baptized as a 16 year old in Benton Street Baptist Church, Kitchener.

He married Gwen in 1990. She grew up in a pastor’s home, and her father had the privilege of serving as our interim pastor in the early 2000’s! Together they have raised David (married to Dr. Noel) and Nathanael (married to Emilie). He considers it a great privilege to be a member of the First B family and to be able to serve the Lord and His people!

When he isn’t working or at the church, he loves the outdoors and can be found mountain biking, snowshoeing, skiing, hiking, hunting or fishing every chance he can get out. And of course blueberry picking!
