Born and raised in Montreal I moved to Ontario when I was 18 years old to go to the Haileybury School of Mines. My work experience after graduation was varied and exciting having worked in almost every role within the Mining and Construction sectors from Labourer to Director. After moving to Timmins for work over 35 years ago I first met my spouse (Denise) when friends in a bible study decided to introduce us in a blind date. In typical Timmins fashion this involved our first meeting at Tim Hortons for coffee, which still seems like a popular choice for members of FBC where I’ve attended for the past 15 years or so. I’ve also been blessed with three fantastic kids, two of which are still based in Timmins and the third one that is currently in Toronto.
Because of my life experience I learned long ago not to question what path God has put me on but rather to enjoy the ride and know that he has a reason for everything. In this role as deacon, I believe he is working on my patience and humility (at least that’s how Denise sees this). I look forward to his molding of my spirit and the new experiences this will add to my development both as a person and as a part of the body of Christ at FBC.
